President Speaks

April 5, 2005
Greetings Fellow Mustangers..

Spring has arrived!!   How do i know that?  Because I met what seemed like a hundred custom cars and car trailers headed west on I94 Sunday evening.  This means, I missed the Toppers Car Show.  All car people know that Toppers is the official start of spring.

It is now time to get the ole horse out of storage and out to Tuesday night's meeting.  We are having a regular meeting at Luther Ford  Then later this month our mid-month group has planned a Pizza party at happy Joes's 6:00 on April 26 - the 4th Tuesday of the month.  Our mid month people have chosen that night for most of the mod motnh activiteis through out the year.

Speaking of the mid month, for those of you that couldn't make it, we missed you at the cruise out to Hagge's Bar and Grill.  I think we had 20+ members and I believe a good time was had by all.  You also missed some great door prizes, a pair of 2005 Corvette Posters.  Thanks Tom! (btw Tom, how many of those die you keep to hang on your office?)

Our Tuesday meeting will recap the Toppers show, plan for our mid month meeting (which is 'bout done), and talk for a bit about club decals and/or windshield decals.  Perhaps a brief car show report from the two groups.

We will be discussing the clubs goals and ambitions, we have a great group, and we are getting new members all the time.  It is up to us as a group to help them feel welcome and involved.  Involved?  You want to be involved?  Let us know, we can always use a bit of help with small projects as well as big shows.  Sometimes we could just use someone to bring in something interesting for show and tell to keep the prez from babbling all night.  It is your club step up and give it a go!!

Quick bit of thanks to Dave Samson. Dave did a great job getting Craig's car pictured in the West Fargo Pioneer and also on the donations layout.  It is found on our cover page and our website under the Communities tab.  Check it out - check the whole site out as Tad has worked hard to add current info to keep us coming back  every week!  Thanks Tad!

I have had a few calls from folks wanting to sell their Mustangs.  I will forward the info to Elton.  So for those of you that don't have a car they are still out there.  Keep looking.  Just remember you are not required to have a Mustang or even a Ford to be a member, jsut a love or interest in them.

'Till Tuesday! See ya!
Todd Fuchs
President, Northstar Mustangs

Todd our clubs 13th ?? President was the president that did not attend last months meeting.  He would like to thank Brenda for standing in for him.

From The Editor

Mustang & Ford Lovers,

It's spring, the birds are singing, (I've seen a robin in the back yard), the sun is shining, the first car show of the season is behind us.  yup, must be spring!

There were a few members at Topper's Car Show.  We talked to Marie & Travis Brekken and they enjoyed the car show and were really impressed with some of the displays.  This is always a big show with some hot rods that are really something to behold.  The next big car show is Prime Steel in rand Forks at the Alerus Center.  I have not been up there but it sounds like fun, although it is in Grand Forks.

We are including a current member list, so you can see if there are any errors. Please let us know if we are missing some information, or have some wrong information.  We purged the want ads and have included some new ads.  If you have something included in the ads, please let us know.  If you have any ideas for an article you would like to see in the newsletter, please let us know.  you don't have to have the article, just a topic/idea.

Well, I haven't got much to say this month, so I'll sign off.  come to the meeting on Tuesday, April 12 for updates on the car shouws.  also don't forget the mid month at happy Joe's Pizza on South University.  This is a family event...kids welcome.  See you Tuesday.

Elton & Colleen

From The Secretary

March Meeting – March 8, 2005

Vice President Brenda called the meeting to order, said the President was repenting his sins or something.
Treasurer reported that we switched banks, gave out donations to some charities. Elton moved, second by Greg
to approve the Treasurer's report.
Greg moved, second by Jon B to approve minutes as printed in the newsletter

Mid-month activities: run to Hagge's in Mapleton on Tuesday, March 22 for dinner. Asked for someone to contact members who have not renewed and invite them to join us.  Colleen will try to contact them.  Will also e-mail all members with e-mail to get a count for the trip to Mapleton.  Mid-month committees still working on trip to Aire, ND in June or July.  Next mid-month is Happy Joe's.  Dean s will work on it.

Craig will update on decals at next meeting. Had new banner/table cover at the meeting.

Craig reported on Downtown Street Fair Car Show -- committee decided to stay with trophies, maybe look to more enjoyable car show with live band.

Topper's Car Show - Craig is giong to be there with his convertible.  Rob maybe.
Prime Steel Car Show - Elton announced that they are having a $100 award to best club display.
All Ford Car Show Committee - Mark chair?  Greg, Brenda B, Matt, Christina
Third Thursday - Downtown Fargo again this summer - June, July, August.

Matt announced that Advanced Auto Parts at 25th & 13th Ave will give club members a 10% discount.  Working on getting it at West Fargo one also.  If members use it, may increase the discount.  Interested in doing a show and shine or car show in the parking lot.

Matt is also giving a member list to the Dairy Queen on University Drive, will be getting discount cards.
Discussion on getting some kind of membership card and maybe listing discounts on the back.

Jon B. - Potato Days Car Show is August 29 in Barnseville, same park as last year.
Craig mentioned PA system.
Meeting is disintegrating, suddenly hear Greg move and Tom second to adjourn the meeting.

Respectfully submitted,
Colleen substituting for Mark who was gone again. (Just who is the secretary?? Mark who?)

Q:  Why don't chicken coops have 4 doors?
A:  Because then they would be sedans.
