President Speaks

August, 2006

Hello All Ford Car Show Enthusiasts!

Well, It's August, and I still appear to be president!!  As the great explorer Ole Hicks, founder of Hickson, ND presumably said - "Uffda"!

I have it under good faith that the Island park Car Show was a success.  As I was not there, I will not use too much white space talking about it, and let others share the fantastic stories I am sure they have.  One thing I did find out for sure is that we do have items already pre-ordered for the All Ford Show, meaning less work!

The major topic of the August meeting I presume will be the All Ford Show on Saturday the 12th.  As I will only be at the meeting in spirit, while the rest of me is in Massachusetts, I have asked Brenda to cover for me.

One Other topic of interest before I close is that we are now officially the porud owners of a trailer!  Yes, a trailer that even has the Northstar Mustang logo on it!  Thank You to all who helped with the trailer purchase.

Items for discussion in August:

All Ford Show
Other

Happy August,

Chad, marked

From The Editor

Hey Northstar Mustang Club Members!

One car show down and one to go!  The Downtown Street Fair Car show went very well and even with the heat (100 degrees plus), we had 77 cars that registered and about 5 or 6 late comers that didn't register.  From what I heard, other shows in the area were down in numbers also.  I've had a couple people who had their cars there tell me they thought we had a really good show.  We had a good selection of cars, even some Tuners and Low riders.  Everything went well and we had a better return of the Participant's ballots than in the past.  We also gained a new member and had a former member renew.  So welcome Richard Adams and Pamela Austfjord and welcome back Gloria Doescher.

Thanks to June and Linda at the dairy Queen for the door prizes at the Cruise on Friday night before the Downtown Street Fair Car Show.  Attendance was down there also, but I'm sure the heat played a big part in that also.  There were cars showing up as most people left. In talking to Dave Anderson, he said many people went to the Street Fair on Friday evening to avoid the expected heat on Saturday.

Enough about the last show and on to the next.  Same story...we need people to help with parking, judging, concession, etc.  The trophies and dash plaques are done.

The meeting this month will be west of the Moorhead Center Mall.  The Moorhead River Arts Festival is having a Car Show form 5:00-9:00 and invited us to bring our cars.  At last month's meeting we decided to hold our meeting there.  So please, drive your Mustang or Ford and put it in the Show and Shine.  They are planning to park the cars on 3rd Street and a small parking lot near there.  It is between American Crystal Sugar and the Parking ramp.  They also have free carriage rides, Red river market with various vendors, kid activities, a Brennan Leigh Concert, MSUM Train Rides, KVLY Meet and GreetSo we will have a meeting in the area new the car show about 6:30.

Also, our All Ford Car Show is at Luther Family Ford on Saturday, August 12, 2006. We need you to bring your Mustang or Ford, show up to help out.

Congratulations to Brenda (our Vice President) and her husband, David, on the birth of their son, Noah David. He was born on July 11.

See you all at the meeting on Tuesday, August 8 by the MOORHEAD CENTER AMLL AT 6:30. BRING A LAWN CHAIR!!

Elton and Colleen
