Dec 7, 2005 My fellow Mustangers, Alas, I have reached the twilight of my presidency. This shall be my last address to you in this form, so I write with both sadness and a great bit of glee J Hooray!! I'm done !!! Yipppeeee!!!! I do wonder what my future holds, as being the president of such an esteemed organization, where is one to go from here? Maybe the UN will make me their new Chairman, or perhaps there is a group of children in need of a captain of kickball team? All I know is I may never be Grand PooBaa again, unless someone buys be a fez and lets me ride in the back of a pickup playing a pipe organ in the Shriner's Parade! now that would be cool... Yet I have to write one last page of coherent thought: I know the club is going to be in great hands, we had an election last month and voted in a great new president - "The honorable Chad Parton". Although Chad is one of our newer members, he stepped up to the job and he will be a great leader. From the sounds of it, he has already called his group of officers together and they may even have a game plan or direction. Great way to start! I know also that our new officers Brenda, Mark, Elton, Colleen and Dean Skaflen will do their best to help Chad. - I know this because they are the same group of folks that helped me.
Thank you, Dean for stepping up as our newest treasurer, as well as food provider/steak cooker. I also would like to thank our past treasurer, Tim Dahlsad, we always had money so Tim did his job well. A couple other people this retiring prez would like to thank, in no particular order J Tad for his great work on the website, Craig for all the hours of hard work planning 3 in a row great car shows downtown. Dean Harold, for helping flip burgers and brats for 5 steak fries and 3 car shows. Brenda for putting together yet another wonderful calendar. Dave Sampson for all the pictures and the newsletter cover layouts. Colleen and Elton for putting up with my last minute ramblings for the last 25 newsletters. Mark, for all the eloquent, kind words, used in your minutes describing my disjointed meetings. Ralph, the one guy I could always count on to help make all those phone calls. All of you that helped at all the events, from parking, judging, cooking, balloting, guarding the Y lot, putting up tents, chasing after more groceries, providing prizes, taking pictures and making chili. I'm sure I missed a lot - like, making dash plaques - Marv J or cutting cardboard, arranging dinner events at places like happy Joes, the Galaxy Night Club and Haggees in Mapleton, in so many ways you each helped to make our club grow and prosper. Whether I listed it or my feeble mind missed you, I did appreciate it and I would like to thank you all. Thank You Joe Bechtold and all at Luther Family Ford who have supported our club with a beautiful place to meet, provided us with some fun events, and hosted our past 2 car shows. You have made us feel welcome every month, and on behalf of the club, Thank You. our club has grown; we have started doing some charitable donations which is great! Also we have acquired several new items along the way, a sound system, 4 banquet tables, some new signs, a couple of tents, and now, our latest investment, a place to store everything, as well as a means to get ti to our events. We have purchased a 6 x 12 utility trailer, after years of saving, we will not longer have to rely on several trips with pickups, or borrow a trailer. Now our "stuff" will have a home. All in all, it's been a great 2 year - one month, run. I am proud of our accomplishments, and even prouder of our members, because or you the members and our guest participants, you made the last 2 years something i will always remember fondly. Thank you all for putting up with my 25 newsletter rantings, 23 meetings, and a host of other events we've shared. Here's to a great future. You'll do great Chad, and we're here to help. Merry Christmas and the happiest of New years. Yours truly, President, Northstar Mustangs Car Club Todd Fuchs Todd Fuchs was the 8th president of the Northstar Mustangs Club, he and is loving wife Darcy will enjoy his Presidential retirement |
