Happy Holidays,

Gadzooks! It’s already the end of my term! Boy, I hope they find somebody to replace me… Oh, wait, I heard the elections were held last month and that Elton will now be the new El Presidente. Congratulations Elton! Maybe some stability can come from the mayhem I created! The club will be in good hands during 2007 I am sure. I am just wondering who Elton will pawn off the Emceeing role to during the car shows since the past president and I both pawned it off on Elton! Congratulations to all the other new (and reappointed) officials for the NorthStar Mustangs Club, and thank you for your dedication to the continuation of the club’s success.

As we all know, there is the Christmas Party at the Courtyard by Marriott in Moorhead this year. I hope everyone has let Dean and Peg know that you will be attending. If you just show up, there might not be a plate for you… I have also heard that there will be a white elephant (new or as good as new condition is the dictionary description, don’t know how that applies to this group) drawing again, so be sure to bring a local treasure (term used VERY loosely in my case) wrapped nicely! It is hoped that one present per family is brought to the party. I look forward to seeing everyone there.

I have looked at the surveys, and will provide handouts to anyone interested during our meeting/party on Tuesday. Thanks to everyone who completed it and gave to me.

One last note prior to my retiring; we need to make sure we talk to our sponsors about the car shows for next year ASAP. We need to ensure that we are all in sync with expectations on both sides of the house.

Thank you all for a wonderful year, and I look forward to 2007.

Hey Guys and Gals,
Well, this is my last editor’s letter. Next month I will be writing a different letter…the President’s letter. So now is the time to drop a load.

Jon B. told me after the meeting that he would have been President. Since I was elected, I will serve. But we will keep Jon in mind for next year! We do have some issues to deal with…some small and some large. We need a mid-month committee to set up events and a date (get together for a meal, take a drive, whatever). This needs to be done early enough so we can get the information in the newsletter. Also, the Car Shows need some work. If you are interested in being a part of planning these events, please let me know.

Enough said..time to have some fun. The Christmas meeting is coming up on Tuesday, December 12. It is at the Courtyard by Marriott in South Moorhead, just north of I-94 at 8th St S. Social hour starts at 6:00 pm. Cost of the meal is $20.00 per person. If you plan to attend, please call Dean or Peg Skaflen to let them know you are planning to attend. Do so TODAY! Also there is a gift exchange. This would be one car related gift of about $10 per family. Please wrap your gift..

Remember, dues are coming up and the price has gone up. Dues are now $20 per year and include a calendar.

November Meeting – November 14, 2006
We met at Quality Auto Body and Ken gave us a tour of the shop. People were checking out Ken’s cars and the shop. Brenda arrived and said it was time to start the meeting. Meeting was called to order at 7:04 pm. Our President was out of town and our secretary was out of the country, I heard. Brenda quickly read the minutes as no one had received their newsletter.

Elections were held:
Webmaster: Tad B
Newsletter: Colleen
Secretary: Mark
Treasurer: Dean
Vice President: Peg (This was the only office with any competition!)
President: Elton got up to ask if anyone else wanted to be President…someone said that sounded like an acceptance speech…and he was elected President!
Fargo Downtown Street Fair Car Show Chair: Craig respectfully declined, Todd was elected?
All Ford Car Show Chairs: Dean and Peg

Todd will e-mail the survey to everyone. Please fill it out if you have not done so and mail or e-mail it to Chad.

Calendars: Brenda has proofs. If we order 60, she figures the cost will be about $11-$12 each.
Dues: Dean moved, second by Ralph to raise dues to $20 and include a calendar with each paid membership.
Discussion. Motion passed.

Todd received letter from ASCAP. He lost paperwork. Will get it mailed in.
Bowling night…only 5 Bowlers. Dave M was high score with Dave P in 2nd.

Christmas Party: Dean S – set for Dec 12 at Courtyard by Marriott in Moorhead. Elton moved, Tim second to have it there with the same menu as last year…buffet with stuffed pork chop and chicken breast. Todd moved we do gift exchange. White elephant type thing…Ford or car related.

All Ford Car Show: Dean talked to Joel and had available dates of Sept 1, 8 or 15. Discussion followed…Sept 1 is Labor Day Weekend, Sept 15 is weekend of West Fest and Valley Vintage Car Show, Sept 9 is Mayville. Will think about it and make a decision. Fargo Downtown Street Fair Car show is July 21.

Mid-month Committee: Decided to wait for survey results and appoint a committee later.

Sean talked about cling window banners. He will check into prices, etc.
Mark U went to Sew What with carpet…project is on hold for now.
