President Speaks

January 2007

Mustangers Unite,

Well, I am back writing the President’s letter. Now, I don’t get pressured to write the Editor’s letter, now it is the President’s letter! Let’s see, what are the important things I need to put in this letter?

No word on a mid-month activity for January. It’s too cold anyway, although a nice meeting at a restaurant wouldn’t be bad.

Last month’s Christmas party was a success I think. Everyone seemed to be having a good time. The weather was good and we had a good time talking about cars, and seeing who was smart and sober enough to figure out the gift exchange.

If you haven’t paid your dues yet, remember they went up to $20 a year but they include the club calendar. We did get someone who sent in $15 dues so we need to find out if he wants to pony up another $5 for the calendar. We also got the question about who has to join. We have always considered it a family membership as long as the family member is at home (not a separate residence) and they don’t wish to receive a separate newsletter. Your spouse or guest is welcome at any of our meetings. If you know someone who is interested in the Club, bring them to a meeting to see if they would like to become a member.

Is it too early to talk car shows? I don’t think we have a choice since Topper’s is in March. We need flyers prepared for both our car shows by then. That means we have to finalize some things for the flyers before they get printed. What kinds of things? Date, registration fee, classes, trophies…. Before we do that we need to have sponsors and a definite commitment from them as far as what they will cover and what they expect.

We also need to talk about a club display at Toppers Show and if we want to help out at the Toppers Car Show again. They usually want 4 cars for the Club display. So if we have enough people planning to be there, we could submit a club application. Let us know if you are going so we can make some plans. Also, if you are willing to help out or need more info…let me know at the meeting or give me a call.

If anyone is interested in a club jacket let me know. We have one person interested and can probably get a better price if we do several at once. Also there was some interest in the yellow club polo shirts. Again let us know so we can get an order in.

I better quit as this is getting long. Anything else we can discuss at the meeting. See you there.

Elton

From the Editor

Happy New Year!

Guess it’s my turn to put in some thoughts also! Remember, dues run from January to December, so if you joined part way through the year, your dues ran through December 2006. Dues were increased to $20 a year and include the club calendar. If you cannot make it to the meeting, please mail your dues to the club address.

Thanks to Brenda and Dave S for their work on the calendar. Dave Schorey was the lucky winner of a year’s membership by completing and returning the survey.

If you have an ad in the want ads, please check to see if you want to continue it. If you would like to place an ad, please give me the information and I will include it.

If you have ideas for newsletter articles, have a question about your car that you would like to have answered, please let me know and we will try to find something on it. If you wish, you could write an article about your car, or what got you interested in Mustangs and we could put that in the newsletter with a picture of your car on the front cover on with the article.

See you Tuesday, January 9 at Luther Family Ford.

Colleen
