President Speaks

Hey Pony Car People,

Actually, I shouldn’t say that as we (the club) welcome anyone who likes Fords.  And we have members who don’t have Mustangs.  Who cares, they like Ford cars.

You know at car shows you run into someone who is “right” no matter what.  They are sure that this or that was done a certain way or was built a certain year with a certain engine or part.  There was a guy who swore that 1964 ½ Mustangs never had a 289 in them even after I showed him the book that listed is as an available engine.  I have done it myself I guess.  But the point is sometimes getting all bent out of shape is not the greatest idea because you could be wrong.

If you missed the picnic in the park , you missed not only good food, but a good time.  Lots to eat and cars and pickups to look at.  Tad just purchased a Ford Lightning…nice truck!

We need volunteers to help with the Downtown Street Fair Car Show.  Gate keepers, car parkers, set up, concessions, registration, etc.  We will talk about the car show at the meeting.  If you want to help out let me know at the meeting or e-mail.

Rob asked me about fuel gauges, so I found an article about that.

We are planning a run out to the Old 10 Saloon in Buffalo the Tuesday after the car show (July 24) as a mid-month and wrap up to the show.  We will be leaving from Bonanzaville promptly at 6:00.

Elton

From the Editor

Hi Everyone,

Hope everyone had a safe and happy 4th of July. We enjoyed the fireworks at Minnesota State University-Moorhead. We had a busy month of June. Lots of opportunities to take the Mustang out. Downtown Fargo cruises, OK tire car show, club picnic at Elmwood...

We’ve also been enjoying some family time. Even made another trip to visit the grand-daughter. We are just getting used to doing things without Tracy and she will be home before we know it.

Our Downtown Street Fair Car Show is fast approaching. Let’s all get out and pitch in…many hands make light work.

Don’t forget the Mid-month activity at the Old 10 Saloon in Buffalo on Tuesday, July 24.

See you at the meeting, Tuesday, July 10, 2007.

Colleen

From The Secretary

June Meeting – June 12, 2007
6:35 Prez gaveled the meeting to order.
Peg moved we accept the minutes, Brenda seconds, all in favor except Todd.
Treasurer reports we have money, but not enough.  Bills for the shows are rolling in.  He thought we should be okay.
Old Business
Brenda asked what we decided on business cards. Yes, she will order.
Cruise Night was cancelled and moved to next week, then on to the next week. The OK Tire show will be this week in the Kohls parking lot. Show flyers will be distributed.
The Downtown Street Fair Show is all ahead full. Our sponsors (Quality Auto and Fargo Bumper) are on board and we have cars from Quality Auto to be featured in the show. We discussed putting the “Mannix” Cuda on the dash plaque.
All Ford Show – nothing new yet
We have a new grill. Todd cleaned it up. Very pretty.
Membership cards are here. They are good for discounts at:
         DQ on North University
         Advanced Auto
         O’Rieley’s
         White Diamonds
A trip report was given of the convoy to the Apple Valley Ford Show.  2 Mustangs had vibrations, Tim had one tire that was a blur.  It was caused by a bulge in tire.  Put on under inflated spare, filled it, car was looking funny, 14 and 15 inch wheels.  Travis’s car had only a fix a flat can.  No help for this problem.  Things went downhill from there.  Good Show, Some nice cars, lots of rain, nice at end of day, lots of fun, uneventful drive home.  Too bad they don’t have a hard luck award.
New Business
Passed around the Pony Express newsletter.  They have some good stuff in their newsletter.
July 14th and maybe the 15th someone is hoping to have a fund raiser for the “Honor Flight”.  They hope to have a car show, with charitable organizations present.  No fees for owners of cars.  Somewhere in Fargo.  Contact info is fastrackindys@cableone.net and phone is 701-793-2565.
The mid month meeting will be a picnic at Elmwood Park.  The park is reserved.  There will be brats, bring a side (what nots0 of your choice.  That would include beans and lime Jello.  Maybe some Beano.
We have posters.  Get ‘em out.  Lots of volunteers if it is not raining on Thursday.
Cruise night scheduled before the downtown show.  Start at Quality Auto, go to Bethany, then on to DQ.  Elton will confirm with Bethany.
Downtown Show will have radio spots and new banners as you enter the show.
Peg made Dean buy a Maverick Grabber.  It arrives tonight.  Dean told horror stories about installing a 302 in his Mustang.
There will be a car show at O’Rielley’s on Wed 13 June.  They will be adding two new stores, one on Highway 10 in Moorhead and one up north. More to follow.
Brenda moves we adjourn, Maggie 2nds, Unanimous.

Mark

Mid Month Activities

Our Mid-month for July is Tuesday, July 24.  We will be cruising out to the Old 10 Saloon in Buffalo.  So get your wife/husband, friend or whatever, get your Mustang out of the garage (or your daily driver if your Mustang isn’t running up to snuff) and let’s meet at Bonanzaville and then cruise out to Buffalo.  We are planning to leave promptly at 6:00 from Bonanzaville.  For those who don’t know where Bonanzaville is, it is on the west edge of West Fargo on Main Ave.  It is on the south side of the street. Hope to see everyone there.
