President Speaks

June 7, 2005
My Fellow Mustangers...
Greetings..

We finally had a summer day, Monday!  Too bad I had to work.  I hope your spring is going well, some day the sun will shine for more than 1 day in a row!

We had a great last meeting.  for those of you that made it we had lots of food and great "No Name Steaks" furnished by Dean Skaflen and once again cooked by the "Maestro of BBQ" Dean Harold.  Thanks to both!  Also Craig and Time cleaned their shop and fired up the wood burner to keep things warm and lively.   A good time was held by all, thanks Tim and Craig for the hospitality once again.

We also ran out to Barnesville.  We had around 20 folks that ventured out, the Galaxy Supper Club did an excellent job!  They were very will prepared for our group and really did a nice job with the dinner.   Man do they serve Ribs!!   Ralph made a lot of calls setting this up, Thanks Ralph!

We have much to look forward to in June, by the time you get this we will have already attended the OK tire Show in West Fargo, and maybe a few members will have attended Rib Fest.

Upcoming:Red River Church show in West Fargo on Sat June 11th - fun run 9-10:30 am / Car Show 10:30-1:00
Valley City Show & Parade Fri-Sun June 18-18-19
Buggies-n-Blues Mandan Sat/Sunday June 11-12

Todd's Top 5 Shop Tips:
       5)  The car dollies that you buy to roll your project cars around the garage, steel whells roll easier than the plastic ones.
       4)  If you can score vinyl beer banners after an event, they make great car diapers for your drippy transmission.
       3)  if you haven't used these newer foam shop squeegees, you're working too hard to move water!
       2)  Once ou have used that cheap plastic spray paint can sprayer handle.   You won't go back to using your fingers!
       1)  If it's been cold in your garage all week, an you find an unopened beer while looking for a tool, you're in Luck! J

William McKinley was the president during the Spanish American war, you do remember Theodore Roosevelt? If not, you have to get out to Medora this summer.

From The Secretary

May Meeting – May 10, 2005

We came to Craig and Tim's shop, we ate and we didn't buy stuff.  7:30 the Prez caused indigestion by gaveling the meeting to order, loudly, upsetting resting stomachs.  We offered thanks to Dean, Dean, Craig and Tim, loudly with enthusiams,  I think it was applause, but it could have been full, satisfied stomachs growling.

Craig brought a PA system to demo for possible purchase for downtown car show ($524).

Craig moves we establish a committee to look into a sound system.  tom and Tim wanted to know how muc should we spend?  Craig moves we authorize the committee to spend $700, Tom seconds and it was unanimous.

There will be a fundraiser cruise on the 28th of May, starting at Peterbuilt.

There will be a mid month cruise on the 24thof May to Barnesville to eat at the Galaxy Supper Club.

There will be a car show in Valley City on June 17 - 19.  Registration is Friday at 3:00 and it is $30.00.  There will be a street dance, and registration includes 3 meals, contests and a parade.

It was noted that a sound committee was not named.  Tom volunteered early to avoid the rush of the railroad.  Craig was railroaded and it was unanimous.

It was announced that Rib Fest was June 8 - 11 and we might like to have a cruise to it.

Chaos

Todd recalled the chaos and brought us back from the brink.  He said we should meet at the Red River Rest Area at 6;00pm to go to the Galaxy Supper Club.

From The Editor

Hey Everyone!

It's June and time for more car shows and trips in the Mustang.  Where did May go?  Seems like yesterday it was the beginning of may and NDSU was just wrapping up.

As some of you have deard, Colleen and I became grandparents!  We have a granddaughter, Rose colleen Marie!  So we spent some of the last part of May in Iowa.  She is a cute little kid and best of all, her parents are Ford people and should raise her right!

The trip to Barnseville was good I guess.  My daughter and I met everyone there so we got in on the food part....the eating!  Everyone had a good time!

An explanation of the cover picture...Gary A. Took them at a race he went to.  It is NOT a club member's car!!!  What a shame.  Seems like the guy lost it when a Corvette blew up!!  Ask Greg for more information.

See you on the 14th

Elton and Colleen
