My Fellow Mustangers,
A wise, wise man told me 'bout a month ago, "If you try to do everything for this club yourself. You will burn yourself out." Therefore, over the last few weeks I have asked more of some of you. And boy, what a response! Thank you!
We had three committee meetings this month, an early Downtown Car Show Committee meeting, a Mid-Month Activities meeting, and a Finance Committee meeting. All were well attended by their members, and the groups stepped up to the plate to take their individual tasks to hand.
The Downtown people are coming up with a great plan to present to the club (Probably at the April or May meeting). They have the big disadvantage of dealing with a number of community groups before they can make even a simple decision. Wouldn’t it be nice if the only thing you had to do were print posters and park cars! Thanks Guys, keep up the great work, summers right around the corner.
The Mid-Month Meeting group really took the show on the road; literally, Ralph and Tom Askland drove clear out of town on a “scouting mission” to a neat photo shoot/ cruise night spot north of Aire. They also tentatively planned something for each month thru December. The first club activity will be March 22 the 4th Tuesday of this month! They have decided that the club shall meet at the Highway Host in West Fargo at 6:00. We will depart to run out to Hagge’s Nightclub in Mapleton. If you are running late, Hagge’s is between I-94 and Mapleton in a deceivingly simple looking building. Hope to see you all out there for a great evening of Mustang fellowship. The rest of the calendar year, we will discuss at the meeting.
The finance group got together and has cut the checks for our donations. If everything had gone according to plan, (but the prez dropped ball) the photos would have been on the front cover. (Maybe next month) Many thanks to Tim, Craig, & Brenda.
Mark U. has communicated with Joel @ Luther Ford to confirm our August 13 date for the All Ford Show. We will have to put a 2-3 member committee together for that show later this spring. Luther Ford did an awesome job of supporting our show last year, which makes planning next years a ton easier than the Street Fair show. Thanks Joel!
I would like to close by saying thank you to all who brought Chili last month, we have some really good cooks in the club, someone even got his wife to cook for us, and what did she get in return? You will have to ask our Chili Cook-off Winner -Bob Taylor. For “his” culinary "skills" Bob was awarded a $25 gift certificate to Mustangs Unlimited. -Courtesy of our "Unofficial Prize Provider" -Kristina H. Thanks Kristina!!
Your Club president,
James A. GarfieldTodd Fuchs
I learned on the history channel, that after President Garfield was mortally wounded, he was taken to the New Jersey seaside. To keep him comfortable the Navy Dept. invented air conditioning.
(Comes in handy for 3 days in August!!)
