President Speaks

March, 2006

Hello Ford and Mustang Enthusiasts!

I think I am ready for more chili now!  What a wonderful time, and thank you to all who made it possible.

Not too much to report for this month’s meeting.  We did finalize a couple of things last meeting, besides the chili.  It was determined that the official club logo would be the same one as found on the back of the club jackets.  If you do not remember what it looks like, I recommend spinning Elton around for all to see (make sure his jacket is on at the time)!

It was also decided that we would purchase the collector car food baskets to sell with the hot dogs/brats during our car shows.

Speaking of shows, I am in desperate need of people volunteering to chair and help out with both shows, the Island Park and All Ford show.  The All Ford show should only need about 2-3 people, and the Island Park show could use at least 3-4 people.  These people would be in charge of making sure we have the resources needed to pull off another great year of car shows.  Prizes and awards (in the form of thank you’s by the group) await for those of you able to take on this grand task!  If we do not get volunteers at this meeting, I think we should consider not having the show(s) as time is getting to be a major factor… PLEASE VOLUNTEER!!!

One last thing of note before I close. We still have quite a few calendars in stock.  I will have them at the meeting on Tuesday.

Items for discussion in March:

Volunteers for Island Park and All Ford Car Shows
Mid month committee update
Toppers car show
Items to send/sent to VMOA
Other

I am looking forward to seeing you all on the 14th.

Chad, dimpled

From The Editor

Hey Everybody
It's March, that means Topper's Car Show.  It also means the start of the Car Show Season and we need to put together flyers for our shows so we can have them for people at these early shows.  For now we need to make some decisions and find a chair for each show.  So if you have any ideas or thoughts about the show, be at the meeting.

The dinner at Hagge's in Mapleton was fun, but not too many people showed up.  We thought it would be low attendance because of the weather and other things.  What we lacked in quantity we made up in quality.  It was fun and we had a good time and good food. Still waiting to hear what is planned for the march mid-month.

If you haven't bought your calendar yet, they will be available at the meeting.  They really turned out nice.  If you haven't seen one, you will be impressed.  So get yours now before they are gone. The price is $10.00.

We also have an engine that should be done by May.  This is the one from the Downtown Street Fair Car Show last year.  We need a set of 289-302 heads because the ones we have are cracked or something.  So if you have a set let someone know so we can get them to NDSCS in Wahpeton to be rebuilt and get the engine assembled.

See you Tuesday, March 14 at Luther Family Ford at 6:30pm.

Elton

From The Secretary

Meeting gaveled to order promptly at 6:44 and said we should eat.
7:21 Gaveled to order and we voted. Winner was Dave M. Second was the Prez and third was Lynette M (keeping it in the family).
Todd moves we accept the minutes for last month. Brenda seconds and it passes unanimously.
Treasurer reports we have money. Next he reports we have no trailer yet. The order was lost and will be ordered this week and we will know when by Thursday when it will show up.

Old Business
The hot dog cars where discussed. Talk, Talk, Talk. Colleen moves we buy two cases. Dave Seconds and it passes without dissent.

If you ordered a shirt, call Sew What at 277-0920 to confirm.

Logos for the trailer and other stuff was discussed. Jon moves we use the coat logo, Dave M seconds and it passed with 2 nays (first in recorded history). Perhaps there will be protests.

New Business
