President Speaks

Howdy horse lovers,
It must be spring, I drove my Mustang! I didn’t even wash it, just checked the fluids (oil, water, brake fluid) and fired it up. No problem. Kind of nice to get it out and even nicer when you can be with friends. The evening at Hagge’s was great as usual…good food and lots of car talk.

At our meeting this month we need to talk about the car shows and arrange a time for the committees to meet. Dean S is supposed to have gotten a big grill at a good deal with some repairs. We will probably hear more at the meeting.

At the last meeting we talked about helping out at the Thursday night Cruise in Downtown Fargo. The cruises will start in June and we are scheduled to help at that one. So the mid-month committee is looking at getting together at Hooligan’s on Tuesday, May 22. When we went last year, it was cool and rainy…lets hope for nice weather this year.

The pictures on the cover are of Travis Brekken’s cars at Prime Steel. Travis is one of our members from Crookston. Two very nice cars and an innovative display. I believe he won a first place trophy. Speaking of that, we are open to ideas for a display for our car shows. So if you have ideas, let us know so we can work on them for a car show.

See you at the meeting, Tuesday, May 8 at 6:30 at Luther Family Ford. Be there and give your input.

Elton

From the Editor

Hi Everyone,

Well, it seems we are finally having spring…although sometimes it feels like we skipped spring and jumped into summer. Wow. Last weekend was pretty nice. Guess it is time to get those Mustangs out and drive them. Have been seeing a lot of convertibles driving around with the tops down. Now is the time to enjoy that. Ever notice how 40 degrees in the fall is cold, but in the spring it is warm??

I’m also getting anxious to get some flowers planted, get the garden planted, pick some rhubarb…plant some trees… Elton did get the lawn mowed last weekend. Can’t believe how green the grass got in a big hurry.

We have heard about some possible cruises at various businesses this summer and need to check them out and get that information out to everyone. Also remember you get a discount at the Dairy Queen on North University. Let them know you are a member of Northstar Mustangs to get your discount.

See you at the meeting, Tuesday, May 8, 2007.

Colleen

Mid Month Activities

On the list of Mid-month Activities it listed the Downtown Cruise Night on Thursday, May 3 and listed us as the sponsor.

There is NO CRUISE NIGHT this week. The first Cruise Night is JUNE 7. We are the sponsor group. We will need people to be downtown about 4:00 pm to assist with parking. If you would like to help out with this and cannot make it to the meeting on Tuesday, please contact one of the officers for more information. There is usually a large turnout of cars for these cruises. It gets difficult to cruise, easier to park your car and walk!!

Our Mid-month activity this month is on Tuesday, May 22. We are hoping to meet at Hooligan’s that evening. I believe Maggie is checking on that. Hooligan’s is south of West Fargo on Sheyenne Street in the Eagle Run area. If you would like to go to that and cannot attend the May meeting, please contact Elton, Colleen or one of the other officers and they will get your name added to the list or let you know what is happening.

So get your Mustang or whatever out and join us at one of these events. If you don’t have your Mustang ready to drive…come in what you are driving. You don’t need to drive your Mustang to take part in these events.
