If this is July and it sure feels like it, then it must be time for the annual Valley All Ford Car Show. If you haven't heard, must be because you've eating a sno cone the last few weeks, the show is Saturday July 20th at Valley Ford. For you newcomers, in 2000 we had 100 Fords in attendance and last year about 85 or so in spite of rainy weather that morning. As is our practice, the July meeting will be centered around the car show with some of these topics to be covered: Review of trophies and judging criteria Introduction of parking chairman Review of many other "last minue" items as they come up Now, this meeting usually gets disgustingly long. If I'm quick with the Marv Buus gavel, it's because I want to get business done and adjourn to the Dilworth Dairy Queen! so bring your Fords and let's have some fun! Some other items that you may be interested in: You'll be asked at the meeting to preregister your car so as to make it easier on "Head Registar" Colleen Solseng that morning. Preregistrations are slow to come in although the majority we havve are because of a special mailing by Elton to past show participants (Good job Elton!) Certainly this show will be the last show at this Main Avenue location as Valley Ford will be moving late this summer or early fall. Because their new location has less space to display cars, our format of Valley moving their cars out of the way to allow us to park for the car show may not exist next year. After the 20th we'll begin to explore options for Ford's 100 anniversary year in 2003! Larry and Berneice Heyd, Terry Balzum and Craig attended the steamy car show in Ada on June 29th. Our traveling road show went to Valley City on June 22nd when Tim Dahlsad and family, Larry and Berneice and yours truly humbled the assembled masses of "bow ties" and Chrysler products. If you're interested in being a member of the road warriors the weekend of July 13 and 14th is for you. Larry informs me he's headed for Pelican Rapids that Saturday, Craig is leading a delegation to Detroit Lakes and if you want to go your own way, there's a show in Jamestown. More details at the meeting. Lots to get done this coming Tuesday; see you there. Craig
